Incredible Spanish value! Reviewed at $20.
If you have been following our email blasts for many years now, you will know that we consider Spain one of the best wine countries in the world that produce the most amazing value driven wines on the planet! HERE WE GO AGAIN !!!!
What makes many of these value wines so special is that not only do they deliver on flavor but complexity as well. More times than not the Spanish deliver value wines that are interesting and at the same time completely and utterly enjoyable.
This wine falls right into that category in spades! A total crowd-pleaser that is so incredibly smooth with flavors of blackberry, cherry and silky vanilla that blends right in. It is immediately enjoyable but offers many layers of nuance not found in wines under $10.
Yes, this is the same region that produces the immensely popular Clio, at 4 times the price, with a similar grape profile. Mostly Mourvedre with small percentages of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are not saying this is Clio at under $10 but we are saying this could be its little brother or sister!
From Wine Spectator: This red is sleek and solid in the modern style. Bright cherry, berry and currant flavors mingle with licoirice, black tea and mineral notes giving way to a floral and minerality finish. A red blend of Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Reviewed at $20.
