#53 in the TOP 100, Wine Spectator 2021
Fantastic value from Argentina!
We have featured this wine many times over the years and we agree with Wine Advocate that this may be their best ever. The wine has always delivered exceptional value but this year's version steps it up a couple notches with loads of wonderful fresh fruit flavors.
From Wine Advocate (92) : I think the 2018 Clos de Los Siete is the finest vintage of this blend that I've tasted so far. In this cooler year, it's a blend of 55% Malbec, 19% Merlot, 12% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% each Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It has good ripeness (14.5%), juicy but fresh and balanced, tasty, with full flavors and fine tannins. Instant gratification at a great price.
From Wine Spectator (90): Dense and powerful, with plenty of loamy notes to the dark cherry and roasted plum flavors that show creamy accents. Ends with dark chocolate on the finish. Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
