Once again we bring you a wine at such a crazy price we cannot advertise the name of the producer on our website. This is an outstanding Pinot Noir from the Eola Amity appellation in the Willamette Valley. If you have ever been wine tasting in the Willamette you have likely been here. An absolute stunning property that sits on a hill with Forest trees in the background and their vineyards in the front of the winery cascading down into the valley. I know this sounds like many wineries in the Willamette but we can't give too many clues.
They provide chairs to sit outside on their expansive patio to soak in the beauty, while sipping on samples of their very tasty wines. We visit this property every time we are in the Willamette Valley.
We sold this same exact wine for $40 earlier this year. Which means we recommended it as a good $40 go to Oregon Pinot Noir from a great producer. When we found out the distributor was motivated to get to the next vintage by lowering the price significantly it was the easiest decision ever to stock up. This is legit 92 plus rated Pinot Noir from a very respected producer.
The Willamette Valley's southern most sub-AVA, Eola-Amity Hills, is defined by its thin, basaltic soils, and strong afternoon winds due to cool, oceanic air whipping through the Van Duzer Corridor in the Coast Range. This wine showcases cranberries, blackberries, saline, tea leaves and dusty earth aromas. Medium-bodied, silky, concentrated and spicy.
