| Sextant
2015 Paso Robles
WHEELHOUSE
Zinfandel
88 Wine Advocate
The Wheelhouse has been presented many times over the years in our shop. It represents a great value from Paso Robles, known for its ample fruit with nuanced texture, it is very tasty!
From Wine Advocate: The 2015 Zinfandel Wheelhouse offers up a briary nose of ripe blackberries and spice, followed by a velvety, medium to full-bodied wine with a generous core of sweet fruit. It's Sextant's least expensive wine and it's also the best.

| Argentiera
2015 Bolgheri
Poggio Ai Ginepri
93 Wine Spectator
Within the prestigious Bolgheri region, the Argentiera zone is the closest to the sea and enjoys ideal vine aeration as well as sun exposure similar to Bordeaux. Mostly known for their Bordeaux-type blends, fashion magnates, the Fratini brothers teamed up with famous wine tycoon Piero Antinori to found Tenute Argentiera – where this powerfully structured yet supple and elegant cuvee is produced. Deep black currant, blackberry, cedar and graphite with hints of mineral and tobacco. Incredible balance and a long finish. A red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petite Verdot.

Michel Quenard
2017 Savoie
Vieilles Vignes
Chignin
From one of the most picturesque wine regions in the world! Snow-capped peaks, green rolling hills, wild flowers and cold sparkling streams. This wine is crisp, cool and refreshing! Imported by Kermit Lynch.
The minerality of Michel’s vineyards expresses an alpine freshness and liveliness in his wines. His wine goes beyond the simple “eclectic” that categorizes wines from the region; whether they are quaffed or savored, they are all unique revelations that reflect the complexity of their terroir and the fine artistry of this master vigneron. ~Matt's Top Pick~ |

Christophe Buisson
2015 Saint-Romain
Blanc
Half comes from Puligny Montrachet and the other half Meursault. Nice, rich, full-bodied White Burgundy. Imported by Kermit Lynch.
Buisson's wines are very user friendly Burgundies, capturing the immediate pleasure of Chardonnay. Buisson’s wines are always imminently drinkable upon release with generous aromas and flavors and while they do age well in a good cellar, these are wines to drink over the short to medium term.

Ridge
2016 Sonoma County
Geyserville
Red Blend
95 Wine Advocate
A really beautiful vintage of Geyserville. Reminds us of the 2014 vintage that was oh so impressive! This Red Blend is composed of 73% Zinfandel, 17% Carignan, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Alicante Bouschet.
From Wine Advocate: The 2016 Geyserville Proprietary Red Wine is a real success this year, bursting from the glass with an exuberant bouquet of sweet cherries, blackberries and plums, with subtle hints of the licorice and spice to come with age, and a subtle framing of sweet new oak.

J. Wilkes
2015 Santa Maria Valley
Chardonnay
89 Wine Spectator
Jeff Wilkes had an untimely passing in 2010 but Jeff’s tireless promotion and demand for quality anchored the Bien Nacido Vineyard, Solomon Hills and the Santa Maria Valley as the heart and soul of Santa Barbara County winegrowing, providing grapes to some of the greatest winemakers in California leaving a true legacy to these now flourishing region's.
From Wine Spectator: This has some honeyed notes and a creamy texture to the ripe apple and dried pear flavors. Tropical fruit accents fill the spicy finish, with good verve.

Lisini
2013
Brunello di Montalcino
96 Wine Spectator
93 Wine Advocate
One of the most classico of classic Brunello: Lisini was one of the original founders of the Consorzio of Brunello in the 1967 back before Brunello was BRUNELLO and Montalcino was MONTALCINO!
From Wine Spectator: Exuding cherry, strawberry and floral flavors tinged with iron, earth and spice notes, this ripe red is elegant in profile, tightly wound and deftly balanced, ending with a kick of fruit, spice and mineral elements. Best from 2020 through 2037

Trinquevedel
2017 Tavel
Rose
91 Vinous
Louis XIV was among the first to sing the praises of Tavel’s delicious and memorable roses, which only stands to reason given the appellation’s grand cru reputation today. Tavel is the only A.O.C. entirely made up of rose, which prohibits any whites or reds from wearing the label of this Southern Rhone cru. No more than sixty percent of the final blend can be made up of the noble Grenache.
Marries power to finesse with a smooth hand and finishes very long and juicy.
Imported by Kermit Lynch. |

La Ferme Du Mont
2016 Cotes du Rhone
La Truffiere
Blanc
Another terrific white that falls on the fuller, richer end of the spectrum, the 2 Cotes du Rhone La Truffiere Blanc is medium to full-bodied, rounded and rich, with beautiful notes of caramelized apples, white peach, orange blossom and toast. It will shine on the dinner table and is a killer value.
A beautiful refreshing blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Viognier. Tasty notes of apple, peach, orange blossom and toast.

Izadi
2013 Rioja
Reserva
Tempranillo
90 Wine Spectator
Located in Rioja Alavesa, Izadi aims to produce wines that express the character of the varieties indigenous to Rioja. Farming is sustainable with many organic practices. The average age of the vines is greater than fifty years old and the soils are a mix of sandy clays and clay limestone. Stylistically they adhere to a middle ground between tradition and modernism in Rioja valuing the elegance of the former married to the fruit-forward qualities of the later.
Ample cherry and berry fruit with vanilla, baking spice and forest floor on the generous finish. ~Mark's Top Pick~

Lapostolle
2013 Colchagua Valley
CUVEE ALEXANDRE
Cabernet Sauvignon
90 Wine Spectator
At Lapostolle, the goal is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French winemaking philosophy and the superb terroirs of Chile. The founders chose Apalta in the Colchagua Valley, because weather and geographical conditions are perfect for producing high quality red wines and they also found blocks of unique vineyards.
Rich, mouthfilling cherry, raspberry, mint and a subtle hint of herbs on the minerally finish. |
