2012 Rhone
Rasteau
Red Blend
93 Wine Advocate
With 5 years of age underneath this wine, it is drinking so incredibly well right now. However, it has plenty of structure to last another 5 years if for some reason you want to wait that long. The following is the glowing review from the Wine Advocate.
From the Wine Advocate: One of my favorite wines from this estate, the 2012 Rasteau offers tons of ripe dark fruit, crushed rock, licorice and minerality in its full-bodied, concentrated profile. Made from 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, it’s a classic Rasteau to drink over the coming 7-8 years. (Reviewed in 2014)

Cru Monplaisir
2015
Bordeaux Superieur
This is our first 2015 Bordeaux Rouge in the store and it is a big time value! The 2015 vintage in Bordeaux was considered very good to outstanding depending on the critic. The wonderful thing about great vintages is that the quality trickles down to the "entry level" wines and the consumer is in for a big treat as these wines over deliver in spades! Bordeaux lovers looking for value should not pass this up!
A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The fruit comes from southern Medoc not far from Margaux. Wonderful fruit, tannin and acidity are all in balance for a Bordeaux at a heckuva price!

Chateau de Segries
2015 Lirac
Cuvee Reserve Rouge
90-92 Wine Adv.
We have sold this wine on and off for over 15 years. It has represented incredible value and high quality consistency over all those years. Definitely a fuller, riper style coming from a very warm vintage but it is totally delicious and hard not to like. The following review was tasted as a barrel sample but we tasted recently in bottle and the review is very reflective of the style this wine offers.
From the Wine Advocate: Tasted as a barrel sample, the 2015 Lirac Cuvee Reservee is a beauty. Notes of dried Provencal garrigue, cedar, blackberries, blueberries and roasted herbs all jump from the glass of this concentrated, rich and seriously endowed Lirac that has a stacked mid-palate, rocking levels of concentration, ripe tannin and a great finish. It's another superstar wine to drink over the coming 7-8 years. |
