Vistalago

2014 Valle del Maule

MEZCLA TINTA
Red Wine

A delicious blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% of Syrah. The grapes are sourced from a granite-rich part of the vineyard and the elegant tannins here are evidence of it. Made in concrete with an year élèvage in French oak.
Earthy blackberry, chocolate notes and savory spice on the bold finish. Organic
~Mark's Top Pick~

Petit Canet

2016 Pays D' Oc

Rouge

Petit Canet is located in the village of Minervois, an area known for its old, low-yield vines of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. They practice organic viticulture and natural fermentation using only indigenous yeasts. The wine is medium-bodied with balanced fruity and savory notes. It pairs well with roasted meats accompanied by olives, tomatoes, garlic, or onions that will enhance this wine even further! A red blend of
50% Carignan, 25%, Syrah and 25% Grenache. Organic.

Green & Red Vineyard

2014 Napa Valley
Chiles Mill Vineyard

Zinfandel

91 Wine Spectator

Located at 1000 to 1200 ft., the vineyard overlooks upper Chiles Canyon and remnant walls of the grist wills built by pioneer
J.B. Chiles.
From Wine Spectator: Precise and well-built with briary dark berry aromas and a lively core of acidity and tannins. Notes of black cherry and pepper.

Domeniile Panciu

2012 Romania

Feteasca Neagra

We rarely see wines from Romania, this wine caught our attention at a recent tasting.
This wine made from an indigenous Romanian grape has a bouquet of red raspberry, tart cherry, and clove with a touch of brambles. Flavors of cassis, cherry vanilla, red plum and raspberry work their way across the palate, concluding in an agreeably spicy finish.

Chateau Goubau

2015 Grand Vin de Bordeaux

  Bordeaux

It is well known that gifted winemaker Jacques Thienpont has a knack for sourcing unique and exceptional properties. His latest acquisition reaches beyond the ultra-premium micro-cuvées he is known for with Château Le Pin (Around $3,000 plus a bottle)  Château Goubau (to be renamed Château l’Hêtre with the 2016 vintage) matches exceptional quality with value, and naturally, a unique microclimate within the Côtes de Castillon appellation.
Mr Thienpont  recognized a great vineyard to add to his portfolio that would offer exceptional value. This wine gets better the longer it is open. In fact it drinks better 24 hours after you pop the cork.
Great value from a great vintage! Organic

Bodega Bernabeleva

2015 Spain

 NAVAHERREROS
Garnacha

90 Wine Spectator

Very balanced with refined tannin and a hint
of graphite minerality. Organic
From Wine Advocate: The entry-level red 2015 Camino de Navaherreros is always produced with Garnacha from organically farmed vineyards in the zone of Navaherreros in San Martín de Valdeiglesias. This is a very serious red Garnacha for the price asked, with an herbal touch, faint phenolic twist and no oak whatsoever, as well as a very balanced palate, refined tannins and the austere texture provided by the granite minerality.
Very impressive!

Halter Ranch

2016 Paso Robels

SYNTHESIS
 Red Blend

The 100% estate-grown wines are sustainably farmed on westside limestone soils. Tradition and innovation mix at Halter Ranch to produce Bordeaux and Rhône-style wines of the highest quality.
Smooth and approachable, this wine is great on its own but will compliment most meat dishes and any B-B-Q. A red blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Petite Sirah.

Lola

2016 Sonoma Coast

Chardonnay

90 Wine Advocate

From Wine Advocate: A Sonoma Coast bargain fermented with native yeast with full malolactic, aged mainly in stainless steel and partially in older French oak, the 2016 Chardonnay charges out of the gate with gorgeous lemongrass, orange peel and honeycomb notes over a core of lemon tart and grapefruit. Medium-bodied, fine-boned and lively in the mouth, it has a lovely savory/yeasty character and bags of poise coming through on the finish.

G. Saget le Perriere

2015 Loire

Marie de Beauregard
Vouvray

92 Wine Spectator

Marie de Beauregard Vouvray comes from an estate located in a village called “La Roche Corbon” near the city of Vouvray.  The name “Marie de Beauregard” is a homage to the first owner’s wife. Saget la Perrière epitomize the hallmark accessibility and freshness of Loire wines.
Juicy and ripe with inviting pear, quince and fig flavors laced with light ginger and honeysuckle notes.

Poggio Antico

2012

Brunello di Montalcino

93 Wine Advocate
93 Wine Spectator

From Wine Advocate: Poggio Antico's 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a delightful wine with easy-drinking appeal and lots of energy and personality locked within. This Brunello delivers smooth consistency and dark concentration with a saturated garnet hue. The aromas lift off the bouquet with power and determination. They include black berry, spice, cola, tobacco and mild espresso. The wine shows well-integrated fruit tannins with good richness and supple power. Like other wines from this vintage, the mouthfeel is slightly leaner and more compact, but this is nicely compensated by its overall balance and focus.

Tamarack

2015 Columbia Valley

Cabernet Franc
90 Jeb Dunnuck
91 Wine Spectator

From Jeb Dunnuck: A 100% varietal wine, the 2015 Cabernet Franc has a slightly brooding, backward style on the nose, yet picks up plenty of fruit and richness on the palate. With currants, spice-box and chocolate aromas and flavors, medium to full-bodied richness, sweet tannin, and an undeniably delicious style, it's a charmer that's going to dish out ample pleasure over the coming 4-6 years.

From Wine Spectator: Precise and open knit, with a vibrant core of blueberry, pepper and spice that glide easily through the polished finish.

Mauro Molino

2016

LERADICI
 Barbera D'Asti
93 Wine Spectator

This very well may be the best Barbera d' Asti we have ever featured. There were only 20 cases for all of Southern California and we were able to acquire half the allocation.
So, only 10 cases to sell of one of the most full-bodied flavorful Barbera's we have ever tasted.
A rich, concentrated version of Barbera. Boasting blackberry, plum, chocolate and spice flavors.
From Wine Spectator: "... Balanced in a broad, muscular way, with a long, saturated finish. Drink now through 2023.
Limited, only 700 cases made."
