White Blend
$25 at the Winery
48% OFF HERE!!!
Those looking for a orange wine shouldn't miss this! A blend of Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris and Verdejo that sees some grape skin contact, giving the wine an orange hue color. Beautiful aromatics lead into gorgeous citrus and a long finish.
Andrew Jones (winemaker) has stood in just about every vineyard on the Central Coast, he has a keen eye for diamonds in the rough: sites that are unknown or under-appreciated but hold enormous untapped potential. As friendships are made and opportunities are embraced, Andrew produces small quantities of soulful wine from these unusual, quiet vineyards. This wine amazingly comes in under 12% alcohol! ~Brian's Top Pick~

Argiolas
2017 Sardegna
COSTAMOLINO
Vermentino
Costamolino, named after the area, is made from Vermentino, an aromatic white grape variety that thrives in the Mediterranean climate of Sardinia.
Vermentino often shows the fragrance of macchia, the mix of evergreen shrubs and herbs that typifies the Sardinian landscape. Costamolino hints at aromas of pine and mint coupled with ripe stone fruit and sweet citrus. The palate is at once vibrant and textural and finishes with lingering acidity.

RESERVA
Tempranillo
91 Wine Spectator
A red Reserva wine with a balanced aging of two years in new and partly new American oak barrels and a year and a half in bottle. The result is an elegant wine that combines complexity and finesse, summing up the best attributes of this Estate.
From Wine Spectator: A sleek texture delivers bright cherry and red plum flavors with licorice and vanilla notes.
A fresh and energetic red wine from Spain.

Casta de Vinos
2015 Baja California
CARDON
Red Wine
Its fun visiting the Valle de Guadalupe as many of you know. However, at this time it's much easier finding great food options than it is discovering consistently good wines. Definitely a work in progress, we are slowly finding some wines that stand out. This red blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvedre caught our attention as it full of character and flavor, which is found in wines in this region at twice the price.
Rich raspberry, crushed violets, cocoa and hints of roasted coffee on the full-bodied finish. |

Three Brooms
2017 Marlborough
Single Vineyard
Sauvignon Blanc
90 Wine Spectator
90 Wine Advocate
From Wine Advocate: The most concentrated of the Barker's Marque range is the 2017 Three Brooms Sauvignon Blanc, which combines tropical and stone fruit notes with hints of sugar snap peas. It's medium-bodied and round in the mouth, where nectarine flavors dominate, leading into a ripe, citrusy finish.
From Wine Spectator: Grapefruit, peach and lime zest notes mingle with details of lemongrass, mineral and fresh-ground ginger, showing good intensity and a supple, juicy body. Sustainable.

Edmeades
2014 Mendocino
Zinfandel
90 Wine Spectator
Offering plenty of Zinny character, it’s dry and brisk in mouth-cleansing acidity, with soft tannins and rich flavors of dusty baking spices, blackberry purée, cherry compote, cola, shaved dark chocolate, red licorice and a savory coating of toasted cedar wood. The addition of a small percentage of Petite Sirah (15%) and Syrah (8%) contributes complexity. A great accompaniment to barbecue, game, roasted chicken, stews and lasagna.

Schild
2015 Barossa Valley
Shiraz
92 Wine Spectator
It's been 7 years since we have seen this winery from Australia (no distribution available in San Diego) until now. This used to be one of our best selling Shiraz in the store for many years. We are happy to have it back as it is a reminder of the high quality Barossa Valley can produce at a terrific price point.
From Wine Spectator: The toasted herb notes are distinctive, offering rosemary and bay leaf accents to the dried cherry and blackberry core, with accents of fresh orange zest and plenty of cigar box details. Expressive, especially on the finish.
Drink now through 2030.

Curran
2016 Sta. Rita Hills
RANCHO LA VINA VINEYARD
Pinot Noir
90 Wine Advocate
Hand crafted by Kris Curran (Winemaker at Sea Smoke for 7 years). With her reputation at Sea Smoke you would assume Pinot Noir would be the #1 varietal under the Curran label. However, that has not been the case. Her focus under the Curran name has been Spanish varietals particularly focusing on Grenache Blanc. We are happy she went back to one of her true strengths as this Pinot Noir is a stunner! Rich and complex with wild cherry, mineral and impeccable balance.
Do not miss this!

$60 at the Winery
50% OFF HERE!!!
Another AMAZING J. Bookwalter wine.
Ripe and textured with notes of liquid blackberries and plum.
From Wine Advocate: The 2014 Protagonist Conner Lee Vineyard is another terrific wine from this estate. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by lifted, perfumed notes of graphite, liquid blackberries, plum and lead pencil shaving aromas and flavors. It's ripe and textured on the palate, with considerable elegance and purity, as well as fine tannin and light tannin. This medium to full-bodied, juicy and balanced beauty is going to keep for a decade or more.
From Wine Spectator: Rich and polished, defined by a core of refined tannins, wrapped in textured flavors of black cherry, espresso and toasty spice that glide through the long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Drink now through 2021. |

Les Carrelets
2015
Bordeaux
Rouge
Great Bordeaux vintages turn out exceptional quality even at this crazy, inexpensive price-point! Don't miss this one!
For centuries, the city of Bordeaux has acted as a beacon of maritime culture and commerce. Throughout the more rural areas of the Gironde estuary, evidence of this is in plain sight – the carrelets, or stilted huts, lining the river bank in a unique array of colors, shapes and sizes, allow us a glimpse into the past of what this booming capital of industry may have looked like without the bustling ports, massive chateaux and international tourism that is now most closely associated. This exceptional value is a reflection of the more simpler times and a reminder there are still incredible values to be found from this region.

Villa di Geggiano
2015 Tuscany
Chianti Classico
Black cherry, violet and vinous fragrance offered by the "terroir" allied to hints of vanilla and crisp oak. On the palate it’s full and round with a bit of the typical Sangiovese dusky tannins that still display rich fruit, especially cherries, that lead into a clean, persistent finish.
