Foley Johnson
2014 Rutherford
Meritage
92 Wine Spectator
92 Robert Parker
$45 at the winery
Boom! We are starting August off with an incredible buy from Foley Johnson! Their Cabernet Sauvignon has been a huge hit, so wait till you taste this Meritage!
Amazing quality at this price!
From Robert Parker: Their 2014 Proprietary Red Meritage is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
It is another striking value among the stratospherically priced wines of Napa. More floral than its counterpart, with more uplifted aromatics, but similar weight and richness, this full-bodied, pure, ripe, delicious and complex wine has attractive aromatics, medium to full body and velvety tannins.

Badge
2014 Santa Barbara
Syrah
$36 at the winery
Wow! This is one heckuva Syrah for the price! This is the last few cases of the vintage that we purchased at a reduced rate and we are passing on the savings to you!
This is as good as Syrah gets at this price point. Great depth and concentration. Classy notes of blackberries, crushed violets, blueberries, and toasted notes. Drink this full-bodied, elegant and ultra-fine Syrah over the next 3-4 years. However, its drinking incredibly well right now!
Utilizing 50 years of combined winemaking experience, Bruno D’Alfonso & Kris Curran offer a collection of exceptional wines and unique varietals. Today the husband-and-wife team focuses exclusively on their own collection of fine wines under four different labels including Badge.

Bodegas Pablo
2016 Carinena
MENGUANTE
Tempranillo
Spain's value driven wines are just not going away anytime soon. Its remarkable that this level of quality can be achieved for under $10!! The dry, high-altitude conditions (grapes are grown between 1,800ft and 2,400ft above sea level) allow for a minimum of treatments, and hard pruning and green harvesting ensure yields are kept to a sensible level. The entire crop is hand-harvested. The D.O. here is Cariñena, which is the Spanish name for Carignan (and likely the origin of that variety’s name)—although paradoxically relatively little Carignan is grown there today. |

Mauritson
2015 Dry Creek
Zinfandel
93 Wine Spectator
Baked blackberry and blueberry cobbler with vanilla bean shavings mingle beautifully on the nose. Notes of sweet baking spice and earthiness add complexity to the fruit profile. The entry is soft and inviting, exhibiting flavors of orange rind, summer berry, and espresso grounds. The mouthfeel is seamless from start to finish, indicative of perfectly integrated tannin and acid. Please enjoy this wine for the next 7-10 years.
The 2015 harvest yields for Mauritson's Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel vineyards were down nearly 30-50%. This manifested itself in less clusters per vine and lighter cluster weights. However, this Zinfandel continues to far exceed expectations, maintaining elegance while remaining concentrated and explosive. |

Chateau Loudenne
2014 Medoc
Bordeaux
Yes, we know 2015 is an overall more impressive vintage than 2014. However, there are always unknown gems that break through. This is one of them. This wine will not disappoint Bordeaux lovers especially at this price. This is a big time sleeper!
Dark berry, hints of coffee and mineral on the impeccably balanced finish. A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Montefresco
2016 Delle Venezie
Pinot Grigio
Looking for a great house white or a summer party wine? It does not get any better than this for the money! One of the best, inexpensive Pinot Grigio's you will ever find!! Delivers far beyond your standard Pinot Grigio. White stone fruits, crushed rocks and flowers meld into a tasty finish.

Zanasi
Non Vintage
Grasparossa di Castelvetro
Lambrusco
A beautiful dry red Sparkler that offers dark red fruit, minerals and violets. Awesome when paired with Italian meats like salami, prosciutto, and almost any type of cheese from cows or goat. The little bit of tannin and bright acidity cut through the richness of the cheese. This is the perfect summer red that is meant to be well chilled! This is high quality Lambrusco and if you have not tried for awhile or never tried this is a must for any wine lover! To reiterate this is dry!

2016
URZIGER WURZGARTEN

Riesling
Dr. Hermann Winery, the Riesling-Estate, is managed by the father and son team of Rudi and Christian Hermann. Their philosophy is that quality starts in the vineyard with restrained pruning, hand harvesting, natural and careful cultivation of vineyard soil. Pairs perfectly with Asian Fusion and spice dishes. |

Martin Ray
2016 Russian River Valley
Sauvignon Blanc
Throughout the years, Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc has increasingly grown in popularity and notoriety as its distinct style has emerged, and become a definitive standard of the varietal. This Martin Ray bottling exemplifies that style while at the same time maintaining incredible value. Many Russian River Sauvignon Blancs come in at twice this price!
A lively palate of passion fruit, guava and light citrus notes on the zesty finish.

Sesti
2016 Toscano
Rosso
Monteleccio
Technically this is not a Rosso di Montalcino , thus the Tuscan appellation and the proprietary name Monteleccio. However, the quality rises to the level of a very good Rosso di Montalcino. This is a boutique Brunello producer that makes incredible soulful wines. The fact they put the time and energy to make such a terrific 100% Sangiovese that is Biodynamic and Organic for under $20 is amazing.
Imported by Kermit Lynch.

Yves Cuilleron
2016 Vin de Pays des Collines
Rhodaniennes
Roussanne
An absolutely beautiful Roussanne that is perfectly balanced. The fruit and acidity meld together nicely. The 2016 shows the verve of the vintage, with lifted acidity and a tight-grained, mineral-dominated palate whose varietally expressive, fleshy orchard fruits are more of a background note than the main event. This wine exemplifies Cuilleron’s uncanny knack for keeping this northern Rhône white reined in to the point of highly drinkable harmony. Organic
