Vina Magna
By Domino Basconcillos
2016 Ribera del Duero
6 Meses
Tempranillo
In the late 1990s Burgos native Jose Maria Basconcillos sought virgin land in Ribera del Duero to accentuate the region’s Continental climatic extremes and to provide
the perfect conditions for organic viticulture. He found it in a private hunting
property of 125 acres near Gumiel de Izan at the northernmost extreme of the
region, at an altitude of over 3300 feet. He has been making delicious wines year after year since then.
This 6 Meses is a great example of the exceptional fruit he is getting from this Organic vineyard.
Layered and elegant with dark fruit, oak spice and soft, smooth tannins. 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Joseph Drouhin
2015 Pouilly-Vinzelles
White Burgundy
90 Wine Spectator
Want a white Burgundy that won't break the bank and still delivers fantastic complexity and loads of flavor? Look no further. This wine over delivers in every way.
Clean and focused with light citrus, mineral and subtle oak and spice notes on the long finish.
The style of Joseph Drouhin is an alliance between character, balance and harmony. Wines meant to be drunk young are fresh and subtle. Only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment.

Resonance
2016 Willamette Valley
Pinot Noir
93 Wine Spectator
For its first venture outside of France, the Louis Jadot team became interested in the terroir and wines from Oregon. In 2013, the ideal location was found and a vineyard bought in the Willamette Valley, specifically the Yamhill-Carlton AVA region. The Resonance project is led by famed Jadot Winemaker, Jacques Lardiere, who takes 42 years of experience in winemaking from the beautiful Pinot Noirs of Burgundy to the world’s most up and coming Pinot Noir regions.
From Wine Spectaor: Precise and impressively structured with refined raspberry, crushed rock and savory tea accents. |

Merf
2016 Columbia Valley
Chardonnay
We finally found a Chardonnay that reminds us of the Snoqualmie Chardonnay that represented one the great values in our store for many years. The Snoqualmie Chardonnay is no longer made but this wine is a worthy successor. This wine also comes from Washington state and has a very similar profile. Lots of tropical fruit flavors followed by a smooth, creamy finish. This should go to the top of the list to serve at parties as the Holiday season is right around the corner.
Don't miss it! |

Sequoia Grove
2015 Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
Quite possibly the best Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon ever! We mean it, it is that good! No doubt this will be one of our top sellers over the next couple of months.
From Wine Specator: Rich, smoky oak and plump dark berry, mocha, cedar and sage flavors form an enticing mouthful, supported by a supple, caressing texture, ending long and full.

Danjean Berthoux
2016 Bourgogne
CHAUM RONDE, Vieilles Vignes
Rouge
Pascal Danjean’s Bourgogne offers a nose of charming red and black fruits accompanied by a characterful hint of spice. The palate is surprisingly weighty with a core of sweet berry fruits, a lick of refreshing acidity and succulent tannins.
An exceptional vintage can produce amazing values. Here is a great example.

Pra
2017 Veneto
OTTO
Soave Classico
The Pra winery, although only started in the early 1980’s, has come to be not only one of the top producers in the Soave appellation, but also one of the most important and visionary white wine makers in all of Italy. The winery is run by Graziano Pra, whose family owned their vineyards for generations but never commercialized the wines in bottles.

Cuatro Dias
2013 Santa Barbara County
Syrah
Greg Allen is the definition of a true American hero. For starters, he really is a true American hero: his non-winemaking career is in fire and emergency technology for Redondo Beach.
As a firefighter/paramedic, Greg’s work schedule is two days on, and four days off. His winery, Cuatro Dias, takes its name from his four days off. But even when he’s on vacation, he’s working.
Don't miss his Santa Barbara Syrah which for under $10 is an awesome value! Rich, dark berry fruit with subtle oak and a smooth finish. Doubtful you will find a Syrah anywhere at this quality level!

Fanti
2013
Brunello di Montalcino
90 Wine Spectator
90 WineAdvocate
92 Vinous
The Fanti Family has been producing wine and-extra virgin olive oil in Tuscany for nearly 200 years. In the 1970s, current owner Filippo first took over the Estate, marking a major turning point in its history. After redesigning and replanting across its 300 hectare property, an innovation-meets-tradition winemaking technique has resulted in extremely high-quality grape growing, all while avoiding any non-organic fertilizers.
Vibrant cherry, currant and mineral notes on the fresh and balanced finish.
Drink now or cellar.
