Nigl
2017 Kremstal Freiheit
Gruner Veltliner
92 Wine Spectator
Nigl practices sustainable farming, never using herbicides or insecticides, plants cover crops of legumes and herbs, and avoids copper, a mainstay in the biodynamic arsenal, but which he considers detrimental to his vines’ vitality, and harmful to the soil.
An exuberant style, gaining a fizzy impression from the minerality. The core expresses peach, tarragon and cardamom details, but the savoriness takes the front seat.

Greywacke
2018 Marlborough
Sauvignon Blanc
Greywacke is the Marlborough label of Kevin Judd, and the fulfilment of a long held dream. The name Greywacke was adopted by Kevin and his wife Kimberley for their first Marlborough vineyard located in Rapaura, named in recognition of the high prevalence of rounded greywacke river stones in the soils of the vineyard. A vibrant mix of pineapple, mango and citrus flavors on a smooth, medium body, with plenty of vibrant acidity. Appealing details of orange zest and green apple skin add complexity.

Guido Porro
2017 Langhe
CAMILU
Nebbiolo
Reviews and notes on Guido Porro regularly refer to him as “under the radar”: the wines he makes are worthy of a stellar reputation, but he is too easygoing and unassuming to worry about whether the general wine-drinking public recognizes his name.
Don’t be fooled: this is a simple Langhe Nebbiolo in name and in price, but there is much more to it. The grapes are sourced from parcels adjacent to two legendary Barolo crus in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba: Lazzarito and the fabled Vigna Rionda. Imported by Kermit Lynch.

Santa Barbara Winery
2017 Santa Ynez Valley
Sauvignon Blanc
This fresh-tasting wine has its own distinctive flavor. It is a great alternative to Chardonnay and serves equally well with moderately spicy foods, seafood and salads.
86% of this wine is from the Musque Clone of Sauvignon Blanc. The addition of a small amount of Riesling from the Lafond Vineyards adds to the floral aromatics of the Musque Clone. Citrus and notes of Tangerine and Lime layered with tropical Mango and Honeydew Melon.

Talley
2016 Arroyo Grande
Chardonnay
90 Jeb Dunnuck
The signature white wine of Talley Vineyards, the Estate Chardonnay represents a pure expression of the calcareous soils and cool maritime climate of the Arroyo Grande Valley produced in a classic old world style, incorporating barrel fermentation and aging. This bottling dates to the inaugural vintage of 1986 and was the first Chardonnay produced in the Arroyo Grande Valley.
Salted apple, brioche, white flowers, toasted bread, and plenty of classic Central Coast salty minerality notes give way to a medium-bodied, balanced, undeniably delicious Chardonnay that’s perfect for drinking over the coming 4-5 years.

Vina Cobos
2016 Mendoza
Cocodrilo Corte
Red Blend
91+ Wine Advocate
This red blend is always Cabernet Sauvignon-based, and the 2016 Cocodrilo Corte also has 10% Malbec, 9% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc from Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. It's the first vintage for quite some time to use the five varietals from Bordeaux. The blend feels very balanced and integrated, with the oak neatly folded into the fruit, and it has a harmonious and balanced palate with fine tannins and a very tasty finish. A very lovely red blend from Argentina! |

Stack House
2015 Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
91+ Jeb Dunnuck
90 Wine Advocate
Our customers loved the 2014 version of this wine! We expect similar reactions to this beauty. Under $30 at this quality level is becoming increasingly difficult to discover as Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon prices continue to soar!
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is blended of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 6% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged 23 months in 40% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with gregarious notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries and cassis with tons of Indian spices and floral notes in the background plus a waft of dusty soil. The palate is full-bodied, rich and spicy with a velvety texture and plenty of freshness on the earth-laced finish.

Piancornello
2013
Brunello di Montalcino
93 Wine Advocate
Piancornello is a winery born from strong ties with the land and the hard work of four generations, in a territory where Brunello, the village of Montalcino and a centuries-old history blend together. The name “Pian” refers to the vineyard’s location on a hamlet of rocky, volcanic soil in the Orcia Valley. This is a terrific Brunello! Wild cherry aromas followed by violets, roses and herbs. A very thick, firm texture that will age gracefully.

Badgerhound
By Ammunition
2016 Sonoma
Zinfandel
This wine has been in the store for just a couple of weeks and it is quickly becoming on of our best selling Zinfandels! Really well balanced and super flavorful!
The wine presents appealing aromas of crushed raspberries and blackberries are framed by vanilla and cigar box notes. This wine shows sweet concentrated fruit in the mouth with plenty of tannin and acidity to balance the ripeness. The finish is long, rich and intense. This 2016 vintage should age well for the next 5 years. Pairs great with barbecue dishes such as St. Louis-style ribs, Memphis pulled-pork and Texas-style brisket. |

Chateau Fourcas Dupre
2015 Listrac Medoc
Bordeaux
91-93 Wine Advocate
A super Bordeaux value for under $20!
From Wine Advocate: The 2015 Fourcas-Dupre offers plenty of blackberry and boysenberry fruit on the nose, a touch of brine here, a subtle marine influence that lends it complexity and personality. The palate is medium-bodied with a juicy opening, a melange of red and black fruit, taut and quite linear with plenty of freshness and tension on the finish. This is a well-crafted Listrac that punches well above my expectations.

Le Corte del Pozzo
By Gino Fasoli
2014 Veneto
Amarone della Valpolicella
Whoa! 2014 was a difficult vintage in Valpolicella with mant producers choosing not to make an Amarone. There are always exceptions in every vintage and this bottling underscores that in spades! This is a beast with its juicy ripe fruit but it still manages to hold its complexity. There is incredible richness that manages to mask the 17% alcohol (Hello!). Get your favorite stew dish ready for this or pair it with big flavorful cheeses. Delicious!! |
