Thacher
2017 Paso Robles
Zinfandel
This has been in our store for a short while but we have not had the opportunity to promote it till now. Many of you Paso Robles frequent visitors have been to this beautiful property over the years and are thrilled to see it in our store. They make a wonderfully balanced Zinfandel that is full of flavor and nuance without getting to ripe or overbearing.
From the Winery: We strive to make elegant wines with more nuances than sheer power. We utilize diverse varietals from exceptional vineyards in Paso Robles, Santa Barbara and Monterey Counties. With minimal intervention our wines are balanced between fruit, acid and tannins, with more emphasis on the inconsistencies of the growing seasons and the unpredictability of harvest rather than producing a standardized product.

Laya
By Atalaya
2018 Almansa
Red Blend
This wine is seemingly a BEST BUY year in and year out. Its no wonder as I'm not sure you can find a more flavorful and delicious wine for under $7 anywhere in the world! Last year's version scored a "90" in the Wine Advocate and they had this to say:
From Wine Advocate: This has a very expressive and gentle nose, with nice fruit and even some notes of flowers. It has tannins, but it's not as aggressive as some might think. This is a characterful and powerful Mediterranean red and represents very good value for money.
The only thing the the review got wrong was that they called it "a very good value for the money." No this is an OFF THE CHARTS VALUE!
A red blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Monastrell.

Domaine de Villargeau
2017 Coteaux du Giennois
Sauvignon Blanc
The Coteaux du Giennois is a small appellation just north of Pouilly Fume on the way to Auxerre. While the appellation produces tiny quantities of wine, it stretches 50 kilometrers in length with small parcels spread over 200 hectares of clay-limestone and silex dominant terrain. In the Giennois, Sauvignon Blanc reigns supreme and shares some of the the clean, flinty, mineral characteristics of nearby Pouilly-Fume.
Domaine de Villargeau has emerged as the quality leader in the Coteaux du Giennois and is the perfect destination for those in search of mineral, bright expressions of Sauvignon Blanc but without paying the prices demanded by neighboring appellations.
You will not find a better Sauvignon Blanc from this part of the world at this amazing price! |

Gonzague & Claire Lurton
2016 Sonoma County
Cabernet Sauvignon
From the owners of Chateau Ferriere, Haut Bages Liberal, and Chateau La Guergue. This is there Chalk Hill property in Sonoma. Following their Bordeaux background they fashion this in a very much similar style. This will certainly not fit into the ripe California syle of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Everything is more nuanced and complex as it takes a while to unfold the various layers of flavors. A very balanced style of 100 % Cabernet Sauvignon which has rich blackberry, dark cherry and hints of cocoa with silky tannins on the long finish..

Zanasi
Non VIntage Emilia Romagna
Lambrusco di Sorbara
The Lambrusco di Sorbara produces the lightest and most delicate and floral of the Lambrusco wines. The best versions (like this wine) are dry and refreshing. Flavors of cherries, mandarine orange and watermelon. This is really delightful!
Try pairing it with Thai or Indian Food.

Trimbach
2017 Alsace
Riesling
91 Wine Spectator
Riesling is the most emblematic of Alsace grape varieties.
It has a delicate bouquet with a fine balance between its dry personality, its distinguished fruitiness and its natural vitality which all contribute to its exceptional richness.
As the house style dictates, it is vinified dry.
Riesling can be enjoyed throughout the meal, and also with Alsace specialties, shellfish, seafood, quality fish, sushi/sashimi, white meats in white wine sauces or spices, pork dishes and refined spicy or Asian dishes.

Barone Ricasoli
2016
BAROLIO
Chianti Classico Riserva
93 Wine Spectator
93 Wine Advocate
Just another outstanding Chianti Classico Riserva!
From Wine Advocate: The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio is a terrific wine that lives up to our expectations of a Riserva, while maintaining that playful informality that you don't get in the estate's more contemplative Gran Selezione. The bright aromas of dark cherry, spice and tilled earth are fresh and cheerful and are exactly why we are attracted to Chianti Classico in the first place.
From Wine Spectator: An expression of fresh cherry greets the nose in this taut red, yet this remains austere on the palate, with fruit, iron, earth and oak spice flavors bound up in a grip of tannins. Everything is in the right place, but this needs time. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. |

Castello Romitorio
2015
Brunello di Montalcino
95 Wine Advocate
Here come the 2015 Brunello's!
Tip of the iceberg. Many more will be arriving over the next few weeks.
From Wine Advocate: The Castello Romitorio 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is a suave and supple expression that shows a slightly more opulent texture compared to many of its peers. You taste the natural richness and exuberance of the fruit, with variety-specific elements of wild cherry, blue flowers and soft earth. |

Mont Gravet
2018 Cotes de Gascogne
Blanc
One taste of this refreshing white wine from France and it will quickly become the house white. The absolute perfect white wine for spring and summer enjoyment. It is dry and crisp with tropical citrus fruits, elderberry, fresh herbs and floral notes on the clean finish. 100% Colombard.
Mont Gravet comes from vineyards located in the Gascony region, near the city of Toulouse in the South West of France. The climate combines the Oceanic and Mediterranean influences, which brings enough sun and humidity to grow rich, concentrated and ripe grapes.

Chateau Fourcas Dupre
2015 Listrac
Bordeaux
91-93 Wine Advocate
A beautiful Bordeaux at a fantastic price from an outstanding vintage. This will not be around for long as there is
limited availability.
From Wine Advocate: The 2015 Fourcas-Dupre offers plenty of blackberry and boysenberry fruit on the nose, a touch of brine here, a subtle marine influence that lends it complexity and personality. The palate is medium-bodied with a juicy opening, a melange of red and black fruit, taut and quite linear with plenty of freshness and tension on the finish. This is a well-crafted Listrac that punches well above my expectations.
The palate is medium-bodied with a juicy opening, a melange of red and black fruit, taut and linear with plenty of freshness on the finish.
