From Wine Spectator (92pts): This is serious, single-vineyard Zinfandel: rich dark berries, ripe plum, savory spice, pepper, and a distinctive mineral note, all delivered with the balance and polish that make Monte Rosso so special. Ravenswood’s return centers on terroir-driven Zinfandel, with founder Joel Peterson involved in the brand’s revival, and this limited Monte Rosso release totaled only about 500 cases.

From Wine Enthusiast (94pts): This intense, high altitude old vine Zin shows focused aromas of blackberry, plum and black pepper on the nose. The palate shows balance between gripping tannin, plush acidity and flavors of fresh cherry, licorice, iron-like minerality, and zesty orange that explode along the finish.
