The Perno cru, from the Monforte d'Alba township, is a fantastic example of a powerful Barolo. However, this bottling is uniquely praised for being "always open-knit upon release", making it a perfect bottle to enjoy now or to cellar for decades.

From Wine Spectator (95pts) : Mint, orange and medicinal herb aromas and flavors define this succulent red. Accents of red berry fruit and earth lurk in the background. Starts out fluid but tightens up, with a broad swath of tannins gripping the finish.
