Matteo Ascheri 2025 Verduno Pelaverga

The grape is Pelaverga and it is one of the most offbeat and under-appreciated grapes in Northern Italy. It's a lightweight red with notes of white pepper, pomegranate and sweet cassis.
Notes from the winery: From one of Piedmont’s tiniest and most special zones, this pale, feather-light red bursts with white pepper, wild strawberry, pomegranate, and baking spice. Dry, gently tannic, and incredibly aromatic, it may be the ultimate red for Asian cuisine. Chill this in the fridge for at least half an hour before enjoying.
