Description
This is straight up awesome! Ridge Vineyards just released something special that we don’t see often. A fruit-forward, Zinfandel-led blend from Ridge… under $20. Introducing the 2025 Ridge Coast Range the inaugural vintage of this new California red blend.
Received Wine Spectator's Best Value award!
This is a rare, approachable "everyday Ridge" crafted for immediate enjoyment, with a medium body, playful acidity, and supreme food-friendliness, making it one of the most accessible ways to experience Ridge’s house style before stepping up to Geyserville or Lytton Springs. While Ridge has used the "Coast Range" name opportunistically in the past, the 2025 is the first release of this specific blend, making it a true inaugural bottling.
The 2025 Coast Range is a California red blend composed of 59% Zinfandel, 18% Carignane, 13% Petite Sirah, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit sourced mostly from Sonoma and additional parcels in Contra Costa, Santa Cruz, and Napa (the Cabernet comes from Fredson Ranch in Alexander Valley). On the nose, expect aromas of hibiscus, cranberry, blood orange, and black tea, while the palate delivers flavors of boysenberry, pomegranate, and vanilla across a light-to-medium body with supple texture and lively acidity.
If you are a Zinfandel lover and not stocking up on this rare opportunity, you are missing out!
