The new 2024 Siduri Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a beautifully expressive bottling from one of California’s most respected Pinot Noir specialists, and a terrific way to experience why the Santa Lucia Highlands has become a must-know appellation for lovers of vibrant, full flavored Pinot Noir.
This bottling sources fruit from sites such as Garys’ Vineyard, Rosella’s Vineyard, Sierra Mar, and Soberanes, names that have helped establish Santa Lucia Highlands as a world-class source for Pinot Noir. Those are amazing vineyards and offering this wine at this price point is quite incredible.
In the glass, expect a lively, polished Pinot Noir layered with red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, and cranberry fruit, accented by floral perfume, subtle baking spice, brioche, earthy tones, and a distinct mineral edge.I t is an ideal red for roasted salmon, duck, mushroom risottoor pork tenderloin.
From Wine Enthusiast (94 points): This appellation cuvée is a winner, beginning with aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, loamy soil and minty pine on the nose. The palate is tense in texture, as sticky, even waxy tannins frame flavors of ripe cherry and forest herb.
All and all just a tasty Pinot Noir from a great producer at a great price!
