Description

WOW! Two 100 point scores! 10 years old and going strong. Absolute perfection in wine. This is the 2016 Château Haut-Bailly, one of the most celebrated wines of the vintage, awarded a perfect 100 points by both Jeb Dunnuck and Jane Anson, a rare and powerful consensus that places this wine among the elite of Bordeaux.

From the exceptional 2016 vintage, Haut-Bailly delivers everything that defines great Graves: precision, depth, and effortless elegance. Aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, crushed violets, and subtle tobacco lead into a palate that is both structured and seamless.

What makes this offer truly compelling is not just the critical acclaim but the value. In a region where 100-point wines routinely command prices well north of $300, securing a double 100-point Bordeaux for under $150 is almost unheard of.

From Jeb Dunnuck (100pts): I obviously underrated the 2016 Château Haut-Bailly on release, and it easily tops out my scale. A hypothetical blend of the 2009 and 2010, it has the opulence and sexiness of a ripe, sunny vintage (à la 2009) paired with incredible purity, concentration, structure, and elegance (à la 2010). Incredible aromatics of cassis, liquid violets, cedar pencil, flowers, and minerals give way to a full-bodied, multi-dimensional, layered Haut-Bailly offering ultra-fine tannins, flawless overall balance, nothing out of place, and the class to drink well today yet evolve for 30-40 years. Absolute perfection in wine, this is a modern-day Legend from director Veronique Sanders.

From Jane Anson (100pts): Structured, powerful, balanced, a fabulous Haut Bailly that speaks of the effortless elegance of this place , yet with the concentration and power of the vintage. Great stuff, just a stunning wine.

The red grape varieties are 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
